The Airspace Systems Education
Cohort is a nationwide network of motivated and creative teacher-mentors
who inspire the next
generation of explorers
as only NASA can. Mentors engage students and teachers with quality NASA
multimedia products that support math and science education in the context
of Aerospace Technology. Look for an ASEC workshop
in your area!
The ASEC program uses a train-the-trainer model of professional development
that will engage participants in scientific inquiry at the leading edge
of education and technology. The ASEC is in its second year and will
select 20 new, award-winning master teachers, assembled from our nation's
K-12
classrooms. This second class will receive hands-on training at NASA
Ames Research Center in California's Silicon Valley. After attending
tours, lectures and workshops at the ASEC Summer Institute, cohorts will
be charged with returning to their educational communities to train
others
in the use of NASA-developed classroom materials. These interactive,
multimedia programs are developed for Airspace Systems by the NASA
Ames Educational
Technology Team and can be found at http://quest.nasa.gov.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to prepare an application. All
applicants will be notified of their status by U.S. Mail the week of
April 24, 2006.
