is aimed at government
authorities and national accreditors. The last 3.5 day training course on 'Assessment of organic
certification bodies' is planned to took place on September 29 - October 2,

Management
of Organic
Certification - The last course took place on September 24 - 26, 2008 in Frick, Switzerland. The 3 day course
was specifically designed for
certification body managers, quality managers and inspection and certification
personnel from organisations already active in this field.

In 2009 we plan to offer a combined course 'Conformity
Assessment in Organic Agriculture' to bring together participants from
government authorities, accreditation bodies and certification bodies.

The IOAS provided a two day course in Ankara,
Turkey in November 2007. The course 'Authorisation and Accreditation of
Certification bodies - International Systems and Requirements' was a
component of the EU funded project 'Strengthening Organic Agriculture in
Turkey'. For further information on the overall project, go to

Ken Commins, IOAS Executive Director, made a
presentation in Louisville, Kentucky, USA in January 2008 to a meeting of
the National Association of State Organic Programmes. The presentation
addressed the new European import rules and the Canadian Organic Regime.
