Emergency Public Information
Public Affairs and Information Technology
Demonstrates ways to enhance Joint Information Center/Joint Information System (JIS/JIS) and other emergency operations through the use of technology.
Spokesperson Training
Improves a spokespersons' communication skills related to low-trust, high-concern communication issues such as transportation of radioactive materials, occupational exposure, weapons of mass destruction, and other emergency-related events.
Use of Handheld and Wireless Technology During an Emergency
Provides participants with an understanding of how to use personal digital assistants (PDAs) and wireless applications to stay connected with other members of their response team.
Health Physics Training
Hands-on, laboratory-based training in a wide variety of health physics courses, including:

Radiation Emergency Medicine
Radiation Emergency Medicine
This 3 1/2-day course is intended for physicians, nurses, and physicians' assistants who may be called upon to provide emergency medical service in the event of a radiation emergency.
Health Physics in Radiation Emergencies
This 4 1/2-day course is designed primarily for health physicists, medical physicists, radiation safety officers, and others who have radiation dose assessment and/or radiological control responsibilities.
Advanced Radiation Medicine
This 4 1/2-day course, designed primarily for physicians, nurses, clinical nurse practitioners, and physicians' assistants, presents an advanced level of information on the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of ionizing radiation injuries and illnesses.
Pre-Hospital Radiation Emergency Preparedness
This 1 1/2-day course is tailored for pre-hospital, emergency medical service providers—such as firefighters, rescue personnel, and law enforcement agents—that may be directly involved in a radiological event. It also targets emergency planners and directors of fire, police and EMS units.
