We are excited to announce that Alec Loorz, 14, is the 2008 Environmental Youth Conference keynote speaker.

Alec is the founder of Kids-vs-Global-Warming, a youth-inspired and youth-led organization that informs, trains, and empowers kids about the issues of global warming to inspire action. He gives multi-media presentations to schools and conferences, and starts Action Teams to empower the next generation of green leaders. He is currently the youngest trained presenter. In June, Alec and his team installed an environmental activist project called SLAP (Sea Level Awareness Project,) showing how far underwater the city will be if nothing is done about climate change.

ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL YOUTH CONFERENCE

The Environmental Youth Conference (EYC) is one of the largest green youth events in Los Angeles. The conference will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, South Hall on December 13, 2008.

Hosted by the City of Los Angeles, the EYC brings together thousands of young Angelenos ages 12 to 21 to learn about environmental responsibility through eco-consumerism.

The conference will offer attendees an opportunity to take a leadership role on this important environmental issue, making a difference for yourselves and future generations, as well as to learn about career opportunities in the "green" industries.

EYC highlights include meet and greets with environmental industry professionals, workshops, and a program with surprise celebrity guests.

Last year's EYC featured Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; actors Wilmer Valderrama and Tyrese Gibson; youth stars from the Disney Channel including Brenda Song and Moises Arias; and MTV's Mad Mike with his environment-friendly bio-diesel vehicles on display.

Don't miss out on this cool, fun and educational event. Be part of the second annual EYC, and get your GREEN on!

To participate, gather all your friends and come on down to the Los Angeles Convention Center on Saturday, December 13. Admission is free for all attendees ages 12 to 21.

FREE PARKING IN SOUTH HALL GARAGE WITH EVENT FLYER ONLY.

Free transportation to the EYC may be available for parties of 50 or more. To reserve a bus and for more information, send us a message here. Buses are limited. First come, first served.
