Our Tree Planting Partners
These non-profit groups

Million Trees LA and have
committed to planting large
numbers of trees throughout
the City.
Hollywood/Los Angeles
Beautification Team (H.LABT)
This group
will help plant 125,000
trees in Council Districts
2, 4 and portions of Council District 13.
H/LABT is a grass roots
oriented non-profit
which works County wide
implementing tree planting
and other environmental
projects, in partnership
with community members.
Our mission is to help
build healthy neighborhoods
and schools through
community capacity building,
environmental education,
and sustainable physical
improvements, and to
create job opportunities
for at risk youth, all
of which will be the
basis for implementing
this program.
Koreatown
Youth and Community Center
This group will help
plant 50,000 trees in
Council Districts 10.
The Koreatown Youth &
Community Center is a
non-profit, community-based
organization
that has been focused
on serving the Koreatown
and central Los Angeles
communities since 1975.
KYCC's programs and services
are mainly directed towards
recently-immigrated, economically-disadvantaged
youth and their families
who experience difficulties
due to language and cultural
barriers. KYCC's Environmental
Services Unit programs
include tree planting,
energy and natural resource
conservation, recycling,
graffiti abatement, and
community cleanup events.
Los
Angeles Conservation Corps
This group will help plant over 200,000 trees in Council District's 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 15.
The LA Conservation Corps ("LA Corps") has been the most prolific planter of public space trees in Los
Angeles. Over the past 22 years, the LA Corps has engaged more than 20,000 young people in environmental
service projects like tree planting to improve the quality of life
across greater L.A.
North
East Trees
This group will
help plant 200,000 trees
in Council Districts 1,
12, portions of 13, and
14.
North East Trees has been
an integral part of the
development of the Million
Trees LA guidelines and
direction. In so doing,
North East Trees has recommended
an approach to maximize
the environmental benefits
to “restore nature’s
services” and develop
the local leadership and
community stewardship
capacity to ensure that
the planting and nurturing
of these 200,000 trees
will substantially improve
the quality of life in
the affected neighborhoods.
TreePeople
This group is helping
the Los Angeles Department
of Recreation and Parks
plant 300,000 trees on
Recreation and Parks property
city-wide including wilderness
areas.
Founded in 1973 by
teenagers, TreePeople
staff and volunteers
have planted over two
million trees in L.A.
on city streets, school
campuses and the mountains
surrounding Los Angeles.

L.A.'s first Million
Tree Campaign in 1981-84
