Agriculture Program (ASAP)
At the University of Illinois (UI), sustainable
agriculture programs and activities are coordinated through the Agroecology/Sustainable
Agriculture Program (ASAP). ASAP seeks to be an active presence on campus and
across the state to, "facilitate and promote research and education which protects
Illinois' natural and human resources and sustain agricultural production forever."
Activities are focused in three areas: (1) Outreach, (2) Training, and (3) Research.

- CSREES Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program is offering a new online national continuing education program in Sustainable Agriculture for Extension and other agricultural professionals.
The course provides a detailed introduction to sustainable agriculture and what it means for farmers, ranchers and communities. It explains how sustainable concepts and principles relate to the roles of educators as they try to improve farming and ranching systems.

The Farmland Information Center
(FIC) is America's clearinghouse forinformation on farmland protection and
stewardship. Since 1994, staff specialists have provided an online collection
of laws, literature and technical resources, answered questions, monitored
programs and developed educational materials. The new site brings the FIC into
the 21st century with more resources, access to full text and an advanced search

Agriculture Farming Systems Project
This program at the University
of California, Davis compares conventional, low-input, and organic farming systems
in California's Sacramento Valley - The Sustainable
Agriculture Network is the communications and outreach arm of the Sustainable
Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program. SARE is a U.S. Department of
Agriculture-funded initiative that sponsors competitive grants for sustainable
agriculture research and education in a regional process nationwide.
