Gift Recognition

It is virtually impossible for us to continue to make progress in teaching, research, and service without the continuing support of our faculty, alumni and friends. We appreciate this investment in our future and we recognize their contributions in several ways:

Naming Opportunities

One of the ways we recognize our donors is through the naming of endowed funds established in support of College scholarships, faculty chairs, professorships, and other vital programs. Another way we thank donors is through the naming of buildings, laboratories, classrooms, and other facilities in honor of those who make substantial gifts in support of needed programs and facilities.

The Presidents Club

This is The Ohio State University's largest and most prestigious major donor recognition group. Established in 1963 and part of The Office of University Development, The Presidents Club roster carries the names of more than 9,000 individuals, corporations, businesses and organizations who have made major gifts--undesignated or designated--to Ohio State.

Courtesies and Privileges of The Presidents Club

The principal benefit of Presidents Club recognition is the satisfaction you experience knowing that you are a major donor to and full partner with Ohio State in its quest for academic excellence.

Your generosity provides the university with an extra measure of strength and flexibility. In return, the Office of University Development, through The Presidents Club, extends to you certain courtesies and privileges in recognition for the special position you hold within the university family:

  • E-mail updates and news designed specifically for Presidents Club donors.
  • Occasional Presidents Club gatherings, providing you with a means of communication and fellowship with the university president, faculty, administrators, and staff.
  • Presidents Club brunches, held prior to select home football games.
  • Giving Update, University Development’s quarterly newsletter.
  • Membership in The Ohio State Faculty Club (which has reciprocal privileges at over 100 similar clubs in the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom) and the use of the Recreation and Physical Activity Center. Both are available at cost.
  • Courtesy Library privileges, upon request.
  • The opportunity to purchase on-campus parking.
  • The opportunity to purchase two season football tickets1, as available.
  • Golf course walk-on privileges.

If you are making your gift through a non-profit vehicle such as a donor-advised fund or private foundation, please consult with your tax advisor or legal counsel regarding acceptance of goods and services in exchange for your gift.

The Presidents Club reserves the right to modify recognition levels and privileges, from time to time.
