Genetic Resources Policy Committee (GRPC)

The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) established the Genetic Resources Policy Committee (GRPC) to assist the Chair of the CGIAR to exercise leadership in this area and to enhance the openness and transparency of discussions on policy issues surrounding genetic resources among members of the CGIAR community.

The GRPC meets twice a year and issues reports of each meeting in addition to discussion papers and statements that address specific topics. When considered appropriate, the Committee makes specific recommendations to Centres and CGIAR members. The Committee reports to the Group through the Executive Council on policy issues and on the programmatic and financial aspects of its recommendations.
