Elderberry Descriptions

Nova

Large, sweet fruit. Good for jelly, pie and wine. Hardy and productive bush will grow 6 to 8 feet. Pollinate with York. Nova ripens evenly and a bit earlier than York durning August. Hardy in zones 4 to 8.

York

Largest berries of any cultivated elderberry. Juicy, sweet, purplish black berries. Excellent source of Vitamin C. Good for jam, jelly, juice, pie, and wine. Hardy, vigorous, highly productive bush will grow 6 to 8 feet. Large creamy white flowers in early summer and nice fall foliage. Pollinate with Nova. Should be planted 7 to 8 feet apart. Can bear as early as the second year. Last to ripen. Hardy in zones 4 to 8.
