Eligibility/Dues
Military Discount Membership Campaign:
NAGC would like to honor the service of our military by offering a 50% discount on annual membership to those active military and reservists who join the NAGC.
Seven Categories of Membership in NAGC
- ACTIVE
A person employed (or unemployed and seeking a position) in federal, state or local government in a position whose principal duty is in creating or disseminating information or illustrative materials in any medium to communicate with the agency's internal or external publics or who directs or manages these activities. - ORGANIZATION/AGENCY
Any group of individuals (up to five people total) who meet the active category requirements. - AFFILIATE
A nongovernment person who has never been eligible as an active member but who is engaged in communication or public relations/public affairs functions and whose professional activities enhance, further or support the objectives of NAGC. - AFFILIATE GROUP
Any group of five individuals from an organization meeting affiliate category requirements. - RETIRED
Any retired NAGC member of five years active membership who is no longer working as a government communicator or contractor, subcontractor, or in any capacity as a professional communicator working for a fee. - STUDENT
Any student enrolled in a formal course of instruction at a high school, college or university. For the purpose of distinguishing between student and working professionals doing postgraduate work, only students considered to be full-time by their academic institutions will qualify as students. - HONORARY
Any person who, by majority vote of the board of directors, is determined to have made a significant contribution to the advancement of the objectives of NAGC.
The right to vote and to hold national elective office in the NAGC is limited to active members. All other privileges and obligations of membership are extended to all categories of members.
Dues Structure
- ACTIVE: $120.00
Employed (or unemployed and seeking a position) in federal, state, county or local government - ORGANIZATION/AGENCY: $480.00
Any group of individuals (up to five people total) who meet the active category requirements - AFFILIATE: $250.00
Non-government person engaged in communications or public relations whose professional activities will enhance, further or support the objectives of NAGC - AFFILIATE GROUP: $1,000.00
Any group of five individuals meeting from an organization meeting affiliate category requirements - RETIRED: $50.00
An active member for five or more years, now retired - STUDENT: $35.00
