TRAPS, LURES, & HOUSES

Insect traps are an integral part of any pest management program. The proper traps, strategically placed, can help you monitor the extent of pest activity in your garden, greenhouse, or fields. There are two common types of traps: (1) pheromone lures -- "bug hormones" or scents similar to those secreted by the female insects to attract males -- and males lured into the traps cannot mate! and (2) a sticky substance affixed to colored surfaces that attract particular pests. Traps also can be used to reduce the overall pest population, to monitor the extent of pest activity, and give you an idea of how many beneficials need to be released.

Biocontrol Network offers trap kits (traps and lures) and individual monitoring traps. Choose the method that best suits your needs, or call an Biocontrol Network consultant for assistance.
