Pilot Study

A pilot study will be carried out in the spring of 2009 to validate protocols for data collection and management, to ensure all necessary arrangements are made with bridge owners for accessing bridges, and to make certain that all of the components needed to achieve the long-term objectives of the LTBP Program are specified before initiating the study on the large population of bridges nationwide. Seven bridges will be selected for the pilot study, based on protocols developed in Tasks 1.2 and 1.5.
