BUS PARKING
All those who plan to travel the District of Columbia during Inauguration Week via chartered buses, motor carriers, etc, must obtain a Trip Permit from the District Department of Motor Vehicle and must sign up for a parking pass at designated parking sites. Buses will not be allowed to park at any Metro stations in DC, Virginia or Maryland on Inauguration Day.

Know Before You Go to the Inauguration

3. All registered buses will have assigned designated routes to enter DC and park.
4. Maps of the routes will be given only AFTER registration.

6. Cell phones may not work due to security and volume issues
7. No parking or dropping off of people will be allowed in the bus bays at all Metrorail stations in DC, VA and MD.
8. Take breaks after parking your bus; city businesses will be open to serve you, but you will need to be near your
buses in case of an emergency.

Buses Must Register for Parking
All buses with valid Trip Permits must register with Click and Park to register for parking at a designated parking venue.

Buses arriving in the District for the 56th Presidential Inauguration must obtain a trip permit and register for parking by January 15.
Motor carriers, chartered buses (including chartered shuttle buses), and other vehicles which fall under the definition of apportionable vehicles (see IRP section) but are not apportioned or fully registered in the District of Columbia, MUST obtain a trip permit for a $50 fee.
The Trip Permit* is valid for six (6) days of travel within the District of Columbia. It must be maintained on the vehicle throughout the duration of travel in the District of Columbia. The trip permit is only to be used for the vehicle listed on the front of the permit. Driving to the district on Inauguration Day will be very difficult. Parking spaces close to the Mall will not be available or will be used by authorized vehicles only.
Bridges into the District will be closed to normal vehicular traffic and/or restricted to authorized vehicles, pedestrians and buses only. Please plan to park in outlying locations and use the Metro to access the event. A map showing parking locations will be posted on this website in the near future. All buses must comply with the DC bus idling laws.
