Lake Roosevelt contains a large section of the upper Columbia River and a record of continuous human occupation dating back more than 9,000 years.

The Colville River is one of four rivers that empty into Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area? The others are the Spokane, Sanpoil and Kettle.
