The Issue:
Although much research has been done in our oceans, they are still considered
an unknown world. For example, so far technology does not allow for quick
and easy fish stock assessments, and the Digital Ocean Project aims to
improve test population models for fisheries. Furthermore, improving technology
to prepare for extreme events, such as hurricanes, would improve the forecasting
abilities. The Digital Ocean Project will improve the monitoring of such
extreme events.
