Connecting Farmers with Consumers
North Carolina Choices is funded by a three-year, $600,000 grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and aims to address the barriers farmers face in producing and marketing livestock products while growing consumer demand for locally-produced pork. The initiative is a partnership of NC State University, NC A&T University, NC Department of Agriculture, and several sustainable agriculture - Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, Rural Advancement Foundation International, American Livestock Breeds Conservancy - and environmental groups -NC Sierra Club, Environmental Defense, Southern Environmental Law Center, Neuse River Foundation, NC Coastal Federation, Sustainable North Carolina.
