Michael Bowler, Ph.D.
Michael Bowler is a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland. He received his Masters in Social work from Boston College with a specialization in community mental health. He received his Doctorate in Social Work Research from Washington University in St. Louis with a specialty in the social psychology of health behavior. Dr. Bowler received an additional Masters degree in Organizational Development from Johns Hopkins University, and earned a Certificate in Conflict Management in the Workplace from American University and a Certificate in Coaching in the Workplace fro Georgetown University. Prior to coming to NIH, he was on the faculty of George Mason University and the Johns Hopkins School of Health Services.

Craig Kalman,

Craig Kalman is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional and holds a Master of Arts in counseling psychology from Towson University with a concentration in Community Mental Health Counseling. Prior to entering the counseling profession, Craig:
  • owned and operated a Real Estate brokerage firm where he became quite familiar with the problems of employee productivity and its relation to corporate profitability.
  • was a police detective in the Baltimore County Police Department he became quite familiar with crisis management and trauma intervention. He also served as their first federally funded planning and research specialist before retiring due to line of duty injuries in 1977.
In addition to his duties at N.I.H., Craig has a small private practice and serves as the Greater Baltimore representative of the Disabled Police Officers Counseling Centers providing free support counseling and related assistance to disabled police officers throughout Maryland

Eva Chen,
MSW, LCSW-C, CEAP, SAP
Eva Chen is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) in Maryland and is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). She has also met the qualifications as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). She has a Masters in Social Work with a clinical concentration in Employee Assistance Programs from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Eva is a trained Federal Workplace Mediator and a trained Diversity Trainer.

Emma Mixon
Client liaison and Clerical support
Ms. Mixon brings years of customer relations experience to her positions at the EAP as well as specific knowledge and familiarity with the OMS within NIH.

Starting as a receptionist and clerical support with OMS, Emma is keenly sensitive to the imperatives of confidentiality and discretion concerning client/employee records and usage. She brings a very special blend of empathy and compassion to her job as well as a genuine concern for all of the client/employees who inquire about the Employee Assistance Program.
