Under first year coach, Jody Bergstrom, the Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team earned its fourth straight TCCC tournament appearance as the No. 6 seed. The women finished the 2008 campaign with an 8-9-2 overall record and a conference record of 7-6.

Women's Soccer Drops Tough 1-0 Match with UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine - November 1, 2008 - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team was defeated, 1-0 by third-seeded University of New England in a TCCC quarterfinal round women's soccer playoff game.

Elise Kapp and Pat Benson Named TCCC Soccer Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – October 31, 2008 – Seniors Elise Kapp (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) and Pat Benson (Essex, Vt.) have been named TCCC Senior Scholar Athletes of the Year for women's and men's soccer, respectively. Kapp also earned a nod to the All-TCCC Women's Soccer Second Team. Earning Honorable Mention nods were senior Doug Currie (Harvard, Mass.) and junior Eileen Endyke (Derry, N.H.).

Chargers Earn Sixth Seed With 2-1 Win Over Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass. - October 29, 2008 - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team completed its regular season on Wednesday evening, with a 2-1 victory over Eastern Nazarene. With the win, the Chargers earn the sixth seed in the conference tournament which begins on Saturday, November 1.

Chargers Defeated by Nichols, 2-1

DUDLEY, Mass. – October 25, 2008 - The Colby-Sawyer Chargers were defeated by Nichols, 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. Senior Elise Kapp (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) scored the lone Colby-Sawyer goal. The Chargers slip to 7-8-2 overall and 6-6-0 in league play. Nichols improves to 9-7-1 overall and 5-6-1 in conference action.

Chargers Earn Important 1-0 Victory over Curry on Senior Day

NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 21, 2008 – The Chargers celebrated Senior Day with a 1-0 win over Curry on a cold and rainy Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Abby Wills (Uxbridge, Mass.) scored the game-winner on a breakaway in the 65th minute. The Chargers improved their TCCC record to 6-5, and 7-7-2 overall, while the Colonels drop to 6-4-1 in the TCCC and 9-5-2 overall.

Chargers Outlast Wentworth, 3-2

BOSTON, Mass. – October 18, 2008 - Senior defender Julia Steese's (Wilmot, N.H.) goal in the 65th minute held up as the game winner as the Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team held on to defeat Wentworth, 3-2, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference contest played at Sweeney Field.

Chargers Fall to Gordon, 2-0

NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 15, 2008 – The Fighting Scots of Gordon handed the Chargers a tough, 2-0 loss on Wednesday afternoon. Both goals of the match came from Gordon senior, Amanda Whittet (Rye, N.H.), who found the back of the net on two head balls off corner kicks in the first half.

Chargers Shut Out By New England College, 1-0

HENNIKER, N.H. – October 13 - New England College's Colby Grant (Lynn, Mass.) chipped in a pass from Debbie Lyons (Wilmington, Mass.) 6:43 into the first overtime to lift the Pilgrims past the visiting Colby-Sawyer College Chargers 1-0 in women's soccer action. The win evens the Pilgrims' overall record at 6-6-1 and improves them to 4-3-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC.). The loss drops the Chargers to 5-6-2 overall and evens their TCCC record at 4-4-0.

Chargers Defeat Salve Regina, 2-0; Elise Kapp Scores Twice

NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 11, 2008 – The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team shut out the Seahawks of Salve Regina, 2-0 on Saturday, October 11 at Kelsey Field. Colby-Sawyer senior Elise Kapp (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) scored both goals, increasing her season total to seven. With the win, the Chargers improve to 5-5-2 overall and 4-3 in the TCCC. Salve Regina drops to 3-9 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

Chargers Win Second Straight at Home; Defeat Western New England, 3-1

NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 7, 2008 – Colby-Sawyer evened their TCCC record to 3-3, with an impressive 3-1 win over Western New England. The Chargers scored early and never looked back as they moved three points ahead of the Golden Bears in the standings. Colby-Sawyer freshman Andi Logan (Elliot, Maine) netted her first collegiate goal as she headed a corner kick cross from Laura Sansoucie (Haverhill, Mass.) into the corner of the goal in the 8th minute of play.

Roger Williams Defeats the Chargers, 1-0

BRISTOL, R.I. – October 5, 2008 – The Colby-Sawyer Chargers women's soccer team was defeated, 1-0 by Roger Williams on Sunday afternoon in Bristol, R.I. With the loss, the Chargers fall to 3-5-2 overall and 2-3-0 in the conference. The win pushes the Hawks record to 8-2-0 overall and 6-1 in TCCC action.

Senior Elise Kapp Scores Twice in Chargers' 4-0 Victory Over Regis

NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 4, 2008 – The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team defeated Regis College, 4-0 on a chilly Saturday afternoon at Kelsey Field. Senior Elise Kapp (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) scored two goals and added an assist in the victory for the Chargers. With the win, Colby-Sawyer improves to 3-4-2 overall and even their conference record to 2-2. Regis drops to 1-10 overall and 0-5 in TCCC action.

HENNIKER, N.H. - October 1, 2008 - After 58 minutes of play, the women's soccer match against New England College has been called due to dangerous weather. The game will be replayed on Monday, October 13 at 4:00 p.m. at NEC.

NEW LONDON, N.H. - September 26, 2008 - Saturday's women's soccer match against Roger Williams has been postponed due to inclement weather. The match has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m.

BIDDEFORD, Maine - September 23, 2008 - The Colby-Sawyer Chargers fell by a score of 2-1, to the University of New England in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore Katherine Lee (Clinton, N.Y.) socred the lone goal for Colby-Sawyer.

Women's Soccer Defeated by Endicott, 4-1. Kapp Scores Lone Charger Goal

NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 20, 2008 – Colby-Sawyer suffered their first conference loss of the season, as Endicott scored three first half goals on their way to a 4-1 win. The Gulls remain undefeated in conference play, improving their record to 3-0-0, as the Chargers dropped their record to 1-1-0 in TCCC play.

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – September 16, 2008 - Colby-Sawyer and Plymouth State battled for 110 minutes in women's soccer Tuesday afternoon, but neither team could score and the game ended in a double-overtime draw at Panther Field.

Courtney Chadburn Scores Game-Winner, Propelling Castleton State to a 2-1 Victory Over Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 14, 2008 – Sophomore Courtney Chadburn (North Clarendon, Vt.) tallied the game-winner in the 63rd minute to lift Castleton State to the 2-1 victory over Colby-Sawyer. With the loss, Colby-Sawyer drops 2-2-1. Castleton State improves to 3-2-0.

Women's Soccer Opens TCCC Action With 1-0 Win Over Anna Maria

PAXTON, Mass. - September 13, 2008 - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team opened its TCCC schedule with a 1-0 victory over Anna Maria on Saturday, September 13. With the win, the Chargers improve to 2-1-1 on the season while handing the AMCATS their first loss of the season. Anna Maria drops to 3-1-2.

Women's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision to Salem State

SALEM, Mass. – September 11, 2008 – The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team suffered their first defeat of the season dropping a contest with Salem State College, 1-0. With the loss, Colby-Sawyer evens their overall record to 1-1-1 on the young season. Salem State remains undefeated boosting their record to 3-0 on the year.

Jen LaChance and Liz Allen Named TCCC Players of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – September 3, 2008 – Freshman Liz Allen (Holden, Mass.) and junior Jen LaChance (Killingworth, Conn.) were named Commonwealth Coast Conference Players of the Week. LaChance was named as the women's tennis Player of the Week. Allen was also given the nod as TCCC Rookie of the Week for women's soccer. Freshman Nicole Duarte (Windham, N.H.) was named TCCC Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 2, 2008 – Senior Elise Kapp (Yarmouthport, Mass.) tallied the first two goals of the game and assisted on the last two scores by Colby-Sawyer as the Chargers defeat Green Mountain, 4-2. With the win, Colby-Sawyer pushes its record to 1-0-1.

Liz Allen Nets Equalizer in 71st Minute; Chargers Tie #21 Worcester State, 2-2 (2ot).

NEW LONDON, N.H. – August 29, 2008 – Freshman Liz Allen (Holden, Mass.) netted the match equalizer at 70:20 after the Worcester State keeper Erin Doherty (Uxbridge, Mass.) made a spectacular save off the foot of senior Charger forward Elise Kapp (Yarmouthport, Mass.).

NEW LONDON, N.H. – August 27 - The Colby-Sawyer Women's Soccer team has been selected to finish 7th in The Commonwealth Coast Conference this season after receiving 104 points, according to the 2008 TCCC Preseason Poll released on August 27.
