The abstract submission deadline for World Aquaculture 2009 to be held in Veracruz Mexico next May, has been extended to Jaunuary 31, 2009.

Welcome to the home page web site of the World Aquaculture Society (WAS), an international non-profit organization with over 3,000 members in about 100 countries. Founded in 1969, the primary focus of WAS is to strengthen and facilitate communication and information exchange on high priority topics and emerging issues within the diverse global aquaculture community. The WAS has international chapters in the Asian Pacific region, Latin American and Caribbean region, United States, Japan and Korea. There are also numerous other organizations affiliated with WAS from diverse countries and regions worldwide. USAS Requests Publication Proposals
The USAS is seeking proposals for publications, including books, conference proceedings, fact sheets, pictorials, hatchery or production manuals, data compilations, and other materials that will be of benefit to USAS members. Guidelines for preparation of proposals are available as a pdf file. [read more]

The WAS requests your assistance to spread the good news about membership benefits and options. You can help by downloading materials to share with others. These materials can be used for presentations to inform potential members of the benefits of joining WAS. [read more]

10% off 5-Year Membership Promotion
For a limited time the World Aquaculture Society is offering a 10% discount on Individual Memberships (with electronic copy of JWAS) if you renew or join for 5 years.  This is a savings of $30.00 (USD).  When the time comes to renew your existing membership or if you would like to join the World Aquaculture Society, you can either do so online or by returning your renewal notice when you receive it in the mail.  To take advantage of this savings, remember to select the special promotional renewal option if renewing your membership or joining online, or enter a 5 next to the Individual (Electronic JWAS) category and enter $270.00 into the amount column if renewing by mail.
