This educational tool was developed
during the 1997 Year of Water, which marked the 10th
anniversary of the Iowa Groundwater Protection Act
that established the Leopold Center. The Water Cycle
is an animated program that explains each stage of
the water cycle process.

The Leopold Center funded
development of this vocational agriculture
curriculum for use in Iowa high schools and
community colleges. Lessons look at biological
control of insects and weeds, also riparian buffers,
local food systems, and alternative horticultural
practices to control weeds and improve soil quality.Check this page

This is an
on-line tool
designed to help users determine markets that
could be created in Iowa if consumers ate more
locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables rather
than produce from conventional sources outside the
state. The calculator has production and consumption
data on 37 fruit and vegetables currently grown in
the state.
