pondIn the mid-west there are two main sources of water that farmers can utilize.  They are underground sources such as springs, wells, or aquifers.  Above ground sources include ponds, rivers, and streams.  The disadvantage to the above ground sources is that they are weather dependent, but on the other hand they are usually less expensive to use.
