Fees & Renewal Information
Certification Fees
CCOF strives to maintain some of the most cost effective
certification fees in the marketplace while providing critical trade
association, educational, and promotion benefits.
Individual certification cost estimates are available anytime by
contacting the CCOF main office at 831-423-2263 or ccof@ccof.org.
CCOF
prides itself on value based fees and transparent operations. In 2007, some fees changed. See this article from our magazine for more informaion. We
are more than happy to provide an estimate and discuss your specific
operation.
CCOF offers one of the most affordable certification programs
for producers and handlers with less than $200,000 worth of annual
organic production. New organic processors are routinely certified
for about $1200 in the first year and approximately $900 in later
years. New farms are routinely certified for approximately $700
the first year and between $300 and $500 in later years. Similarly,
mid size operations receive competitive fees. Larger operations
typically pay higher fees but also benefit from increased services
such as political advocacy, PR support, multiple facility programs,
export document processing services and more. CCOF is happy to provide
package offerings to address multiple facilities, fields, or unique
circumstances. Contact CCOF Marketing Director at marketing@ccof.org or
831-423-2263, ext. 31 with questions.
Certification costs include three factors:
Application Fee $275 – Due with first year
application only.
Inspection Costs – Billed on a time and materials basis upon completion of the inspection. An inspection cost estimate is included in all new client fee estimates and the majority of CCOF inspections are less than $500, while many are even lower.
Annual Certification Cost –These costs are
based on the Gross Organic Production Value (GOPV) of the CCOF certified
products. Please review calculating GOPV and the table below to
arrive at your annual fee.
Farm GOPV is calculated as all farm gate organic
sales.
Processors and handlers deduct the cost
of organic goods from gross organic sales to arrive at their fee
category. This ensures that you only pay for the cost of
certifying your value added process not the value of the ingredients
that have already paid for certification.
Additional Services – CCOF charges modest
fees for additional services such as international standards verification,
additional processing facilities, mid year additions of acreage
or processed products, and completion of export documents. In a hurry? CCOF offers an Expedited Certification Program for operations that are capable of compliance but are short on time.
