Nebraska Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)2008 EQIP Sign-Up and Application InformationGeneral Program Description
EQIP provides cost sharing to help farmers with ground and surface water conservation, animal feeding operations, and general conservation practices. All sign-ups are conducted at USDA Service Centers in Nebraska. Farmers can apply for cost-sharing for many types of conservation practices. See How EQIP works in Nebraska for more information. The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is a voluntary conservation program from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. It supports production agriculture and environmental quality as compatible goals. Through EQIP, farmers may receive financial and technical help with structural and management conservation practices on agricultural land. EQIP was reauthorized in the 2002 Farm Bill and is administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). EQIP may pay up to 75 percent of the costs of eligible conservation practices. Incentive payments may be made to encourage a farmer to adopt land management practices, such as nutrient management, manure management, integrated pest management, and wildlife habitat management. 2008 EQIP General Program Description Documents2008 EQIP Conservation Practice, Sign-Up, and Ranking DocumentsLinks to Other Useful Information for the 2008 EQIP Program
