Washington Earth Team Volunteers

"Updated " 01/06/2009

Volunteers are making a difference in communities across the United States.  In 2007, Washington State alone had more than 263 volunteers who contributed over 2,000 hours of their time in support of conservation efforts.

NRCS and its partners, such as local conservation districts and Native American Indian Tribes, utilize volunteers to create wildlife awareness, promote local conservation projects and educate the public on habitat needs and conservation strategies.

When you sign on as an Earth Team volunteer, you are on your way to becoming a caretaker of natural resources in your community.  You may find yourself helping farmers, ranchers, and other landowners prevent wind and water erosion, conserving and cleaning up water, enhancing wildlife habitat, reducing flooding, or helping citizens of all ages learn about the environment and conservation through exciting educational activities.

Everyone who serves on the Earth Team plays an important role in keeping NRCS’ long-standing commitment to working with people to protect and conserve natural resources.
