The course descriptions presented on this web site and in AgLearn are the official copies of the course descriptions. Changes occur frequently. Any printed version may not be the most up-to-date description of the course.

For your convenience the courses offered by the NEDC are listed in two ways.

The course listing page is an alphabetical listing of all courses. The course name is linked to a description of the course.

The course schedule page is a listing of the courses sessions for the fiscal year. The course name is linked to a description of the course.

The travel and lodging page is a listing of the courses class room travel and lodging information. The course name is linked to a travel and lodging letter.

Continuing Education Units

The National Employee Development Center (NEDC) has been approved by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET) to provide Continuing Education Units (CEU) for NEDC courses. Beginning November, 2003 NEDC began certifying new and redesigned courses for CEU’s.

One CEU equals ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience. Each course must undergo a rigorous instructional design process to meet the guidelines established by the IACET.

The NEDC is committed to continue providing quality training for NRCS employees and it’s conservation partners.

The opportunity to offer CEU’s means NEDC:

  • Demonstrates compliance with proven, research-based criteria created in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Is dedicated to high standards for quality in continuing education and training.
  • Awards the IACET CEU, the hallmark for quality in continuing education and training.

CEU icon This icon will be placed in the course description for each course that offers CEU's.

NRCS Boot Camp

The course uses classroom and field experience to demonstrate to participants how the Agency and its conservation partners work together to conserve, maintain, and improve natural resources while meeting our customers’ needs. It provides participants with instructions in basic conservation planning, as well as, focuses on the diversity of the conservation environment in which the Agency employees work to ensure conservation on private lands.   Go to the NRCS Boot Camp Training page to learn more about the course and schedule offering.
