Education
The Education Department offers a wide variety of programs designed to foster better understanding of Asian art and culture. Our programs aim to reach all visitors, including children and adults with little to no experience with the arts of Asia. Tours are offered on a daily basis for both "drop-in" visitors and scheduled groups of all kinds. School programs include curriculum-based tours, as well as a multi-visit program for D.C. Public Schools that features artist-led workshops and performances in the schools. Our Public Programs division regularly offers films and performances of dance and music from across Asia, as well as scholarly lectures and demonstrations.

Imaginasia Family Programs
The ImaginAsia program provides families with self-guided tours and hands-on art projects. Children ages eight to fourteen accompanied by an adult use an activity book to explore an exhibition and create a related art project to take home. No reservations are required for groups of less than eight. Family programs are held in the classroom on the second level of the Sackler Gallery.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers in the Education Department are an essential link between the public and the museum and work to carry out the museum's educational mission. Education volunteers include docents, who guide school and adult tours of the museum's exhibitions and collections, and Volunteer Information Specialists, who provide information services to museum visitors. Community Outreach
Our goal is to offer creative programming to all members of the Washington, D.C. community, whether they're "new Americans," old friends, or those wanting to know more about the Freer and Sackler galleries.
