not affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution.

Only persons affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution are permitted
to directly borrow material from Smithsonian Institution Libraries.
Possession of a valid Smithsonian Institution identification card
issued by the Office of Protective Services is also required.

The Freer/Sackler collection does not circulate, with the exception
of items in the Japan Art Catalog Project Collection. These catalogs
may be borrowed through interlibrary loan. Also, both staff as well
as persons not affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution may request
photocopies of library material through interlibrary loan.
