Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB)
Program Overview
ACF's FYSB programs provide funding for outreach and basic services to homeless and runaway youth, and also transition services so that older youth who have been homeless or runaway may learn independent living skills.
ACF FYSB programs fund the following services:
Basic Centers for
Runaway and Homeless Youth
The Basic Center program for Runaway
and Homeless Youth provides outreach, short-term shelter, and counseling to runaway
and homeless youth aged 12 through 18. The program attempts
to reconcile youth and their families or if needed make arrangements to assist
with their safety.
Transitional
Living Programs
The Transitional Living program assists
homeless youth ages 16 through 21 with up to 18 months of shelter and skill
development as part of a comprehensive program to help in the transition
to independent living.
Street
Outreach Program
The Street Outreach program works with runaway and homeless youth, providing
information and services to prevent sexual exploitation of youth living on
