Rita M. Glavin
Rita M. Glavin is currently serving as the Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division. In June 2008, Rita joined the Criminal Division as the Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General.
Rita began her service to the Department in 1998 through the Department's Honors Program as a Trial Attorney in the Public Integrity Section, where she worked until 2003. During that time she conducted investigations and prosecutions across the United States of corruption offenses, including bribery, extortion, and civil rights violations. She also handled matters involving federal campaign finance law violations.
Since 2003, Rita has been an Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, and is on detail to us from that office. As an AUSA, Rita has handled investigations and prosecutions involving a wide range of criminal matters. As both a Trial Attorney and Assistant United States Attorney, Rita has conducted complex white collar investigations, tried many cases, and handled numerous appeals.
Prior to joining the Department, Rita clerked for the Honorable John F. Keenan in the Southern District of New York. She received her B.A. from Middlebury College and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Fordham Law Review. |
