The Intramural Program on Research on Women’s Health (IPRWH) was created to serve as the focal point for all women’s health research, including sex and gender comparisons, within the IRP.
Women’s Health Special Interest Group (WHSIG) lectures have been held monthly since November 2002 and have been presented by experts in women’s health researcher from within the NIH intramural program as well as the outside scientific community.
This lecture series has provided an important forum for scientific interchange and establishment of collaborations between NIH IRP researchers with scientists around the world highlighting an interdisciplinary approach to sex and gender differences in biology and disease from the molecular level to therapeutic clinical trials.
Those interested in learning about the WHSIG or IPRWH should contact Janine Smith, MD, (NEI) Coordinator, WHSIG (smithj@nei.nih.gov) or Vicki Malick, (OD) Health Education Analyst, IPRWH (malickv@od.nih.gov) for more information.
