Welcome to WiTS!

The Workflow information Tracking System (WiTS) is a web-based business process management tool that provides corporate consistency for HCG's business processes. It enables HCG to monitor, track, and report on its activities in near real-time. WiTS contains HR workflows for many HR actions such as awards, recruitment, PAR processing, and HR systems support tickets. It also includes nominations for NIH Honor Awards and employee retirement estimate requests. Go to the WITS Community on the NIH Portal for the latest calendar, discussion and documents.

Phase I of WiTS involved the identification and selection of a product that met all system requirements outlined by the OHR Functional User Group (comprised of senior specialists and HR Branch Chiefs and Division Directors).

Phase II involves the development of new WiTS workflows and reports. The Process Redesign User Group (PRUG) is comprised of HR staff members with a good understanding of NIH HR processes. This group holds monthly meetings to identify current HR processes for standardization and inclusion in WiTS and to suggest modifications and enhancements to the system.

EWITS (HHS-wide)

In November 2004, HHS created EWITS (Enterprise Workflow Information Tracking System) in support of the President’s Management Agenda (PMA) and the Secretary’s “One HHS” initiative. The goal of this initiative is to develop and deploy an HHS-wide automated HR workflow tracking and metrics system. Since then, the WiTS project team has been working with the Department, PSC, and other HHS HR Centers (Atlanta, Baltimore, IHS, Rockville) to review and discuss how each center carries out its business. The EWITS: ER/LR module was the first module released by the NIH HCG Workforce Relations Division in September 2006. The EWITS: Recruitment is presently in use by some of the HR Centers and the EWITS: Awards module is slated for release for CMS in late February.
