CEAP Farmer Surveys

In support of the Conservation Effects Assessment Project (CEAP) the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is conducting surveys with a randomly selected set of farmers nationwide. NASS interviews cooperating farmers to obtain current information on farming practices (e.g., crops grown, tillage practices, nutrient and pesticide application, conservation practices) at National Resources Inventory (NRI) statistical sample points. This farmer survey data is used in field-level physical-process models to assess the effects of conservation practices on cropland.

Farmer participation is voluntary, and the proprietary information gathered is kept in strictest confidence. The U.S. Department of Agriculture thanks all participants for their investment of time in cooperation with the farmer survey. You have made an important investment in the science of soil and water conservation and in the future of the Nation’s conservation effort.
