School
Nutrition Dietary Assessment Study (SNDA)
III:
Data Collection Package
SNDA-III is a study, currently
underway, to collect and analyze data
from a nationally representative sample
of public schools participating in the
National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and
students in those schools in order to
examine a range of topics on program
operations and outcomes. Data for the
study was collected in 2005, and is
currently being analyzed. A final report
should be available early 2007.
Because the Food and Nutrition
Service has received a number of
inquiries regarding the instruments and
methods used to collect data in the
study, we are making public the document
submitted to the Office of Management and
Budget (OMB) under the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1995 to seek approval
to collect SNDA-III data. Agencies are
required to submit this document which
includes proposed instruments and
receive approval from the OMB before any
data collection can occur.
Note that while the instruments used
to collect data are included in this
file, no data, analysis, or findings
from the study are yet available. As
noted above, the SNDA-III report should
be available early 2007.
