FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. When is the Purdue Police Department Open?

The Police Department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

2. When can I have fingerprints taken?

The Police Department fingerprints "FREE" on request between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM every Tuesday and Thursday. We do ask that you provide the appropriate fingerprint cards. Please DO NOT sign the fingerprint card(s) before appearing at the police department. The card must be signed in the presence of the persons taking the fingerprints.

3. Do you provide transportation to class if I have an injury or disability?

No. Not under most circumstances. Arrangements can be made with the assistance of your physician, Dean of Students Office, and Parking Facilities to arrange special driving and parking privileges.

4. Do you provide "Vehicle Lockout Service"?

Yes, to vehicles parked on University property.

5. Do you provide International and American students with letters of good conduct to assist them traveling in the United States and neighboring countries.

No. This service is no longer offered by the Police Department. If you need to obtain a criminal history record check from the State of Indiana, you may obtain a form to do so from the following website. There is a fee for this service.
