ABOUT THE PURDUE UNIVERSITY POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Purdue University Police Department is staffed by professionals who use advanced equipment and techniques to perform their duties and who handle and investigate all reports of criminal activity in an appropriate and professional manner. The department works closely with the Indiana State Police and the police departments of West Lafayette, Lafayette, and Tippecanoe County, and encourages these agencies to share with it all reported criminal activity at any site affiliated with the University or relating to University-recognized organizations.

In addition to direct efforts in crime prevention and detection, the department carries out several programs to foster safety and security: Bicycle Registration, Group Presentations, Public Information, and the Purdue Student Security Patrol.
