Information on Ordering RIMS II Multipliers

Types of RIMS II orders

Regional Input-Output Modeling System (RIMS II) multipliers may be ordered in two ways:

By Region—multipliers may be ordered for any region composed of one or more counties at a cost of $225 per region. For each region that you order, you will receive multipliers for all available RIMS II industries.
By Industry—multipliers may be ordered for any RIMS II industry at a cost of $50 per industry. For each industry that you order, you will receive multipliers for all states, the District of Columbia, and the Nation.

Note: The choice of the region depends on the purpose of the study. To estimate the total economic impact of a project or program, the region should be delineated to conform to the area supplying inputs to the directly-affected industries.

There are currently two sets of multipliers available:

Annual series multipliers include final-demand and direct-effect multipliers based on 2006 national annual input-output data and 2006 regional data. These multipliers are available for 60 industry aggregations. For a list of these industries, please see Appendix C.
Benchmark series multipliers include final-demand and direct-effect multipliers based on 1997 national benchmark input-output data and 2006 regional data. These multipliers are available for 473 detailed industries and for 60 industry aggregations. For a list of these industries, please see Appendix B and C.

Placing an order for RIMS II multipliers

You may place an order by using the RIMS II online order and delivery system. After a one-time registration you can order multipliers by placing selected regions and industries in an online shopping cart.

After completing the registration process, you can place an order for RIMS II multipliers by adding items to your shopping cart. During the checkout process you may pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club accepted) or by check using the E-check feature.

After your payment has been approved, it will take a few business days before your order is completed. You will receive an e-mail notification when the multipliers are ready for you to download.

Downloading and Viewing RIMS II multipliers

After you have received an e-mail notification that your multipliers are ready to be downloaded, please log in to the RIMS II online order and delivery system to download your multipliers.

The files available for download include the multipliers tables (ten tables per benchmark series, five tables per annual series) and the national distribution costs tables.
