2008 Flood Information
A collection of resources and summaries provided by USGS personnel during the
June 2008 floods. RAGBRAI: Learn About the Land Brochures
RAGBRAI (The Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) will be held July 20-26. The USGS in collaboration with the Iowa DNR Geological Survey have again created Learn about the Land brochures which they will be distributing in the campgrounds along the RAGBRAI route. The brochures will also be available at the Natural Resources Conservation Service booths located between towns along the bike route. These brochures highlight landmarks, rivers and other natural resources cyclists will be traveling through during each day of the journey. This year’s guides also point out areas that have experienced damage from the floods of 2008, and include facts and brief histories of flooding in those areas.
