Development of Technology for Production of Alkali Sacaton (Sporobolus airoides) for
Southern Nevada |
The Southern Nevada Restoration Team (SNRT) is an interagency partnership consisting of:
1) BLM - Las Vegas Field Office, 2) U.S. Forest Service - Spring Mountain, 3) National Park Service – Lake
Mead and 4) U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service – Desert Refuge Complex. SNRT members manage over 7
million acres of federal lands in southern Nevada, comprising approximately 90% of the landscape. This
project will develop populations of plant materials for use by SNRT in their restoration efforts. The Tucson
Plant Materials Center will form populations through natural hybridization of Sporobolus airoides accessions
collected from various sites in southern Nevada. |
