Sustainability Statement

In our new century of service, to be true to our mission we must acknowledge our business operations' ecological, economic, and ethical impacts. Finite planet resources must sustain a growing, ever-consuming population. Our resource needs permanently tie us to the land. All we use comes from the earth, and the earth must process all our waste.

As an agency charged with stewardship and conservation leadership and as a global citizen, the Forest Service must work to reduce its consumption level and impacts on the earth's increasingly finite resources.
