Electronic Reading Room

DOI’s Electronic Reading Room contains documents specifically identified for inclusion by the FOIA [5 U.S.S. 552(a)(2)]. In the Reading Room, you will find final opinions rendered in the adjudication of cases; policy statements and interpretations not published in the Federal Register; administrative staff manuals and instructions affecting members of the public; copies of records frequently requested under the FOIA and an index of those documents; other public documents provided at the discretion of bureaus/offices; and links to other related sites and reference materials.

In response to the Department of Justice’s June 25, 2008 Memorandum, the Chief FOIA Officer, Office of the Chief Information Officer, asked each Bureau/Office to review its reading room(s) and complete a Reading Room certification form.  The Department submitted its review to DOJ on October 31, 2008.  FOIA Reading Room Certification PDF format
