Disability Health Policy:

In 2001, on the heels of the United States Supreme Court Olmstead case, the United States President established the Olmstead and the New Freedom Initiative to help people with disabilities who choose to move from large institutional facilities into supportive community housing. This initiative includes increasing access to assistive and universally designed technologies, expanding educational and employment opportunities, and promoting increased access into daily community life.
