Farm Service Agency Supports FS4JK Volunteers

Farm Service Agency (FSA) recently renewed its commitment to Farm Safety 4 Just Kids (FS4JK) in 2006, by contributing $20,000 to support the organization’s chapter network of volunteers.

Since 1987, FS4JK has grown to include a network of nearly 130 volunteer chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Each year, more than 100 children are killed and 38,000 are injured on farms and ranches. The FS4JK chapter network gives all those affected by these life-changing incidents a way to make a difference. Volunteers are farmers, business owners, school teachers, police, parents and EMT workers.

For more information call Farm Safety 4 Just Kids - (800) 423-5437 - or visit www.fs4jk.org

AG In The Classroom USDA

For many states, agriculture is their most important industry, with one out of every four jobs depend on growing, improving, shipping and selling the food we eat and the products we make from agricultural resources.

The National Agriculture in the Classroom Resource Directory is a good place to start if you are looking for educational materials. It is searchable by grade and subject levels, media type and area of the country addressed in the resource.
