HEC conducts training under the Corps-wide training program (PROSPECT). Courses are typically one- or two-week sessions at HEC covering technical subjects in hydrologic engineering and planning analysis, and applications of HEC computer programs.

A course survey is conducted within the Corps for courses to be given the next fiscal year. After the program is set, typically in June, the courses are available to others on a space-available basis.
