New features in the program are funded by two sources, (1) Corps Research & Development Directorate, (2) special projects for Corps District offices or their local partners. If you are part of the Corps of Engineers, you can request a new feature through one of these channels. If you do not know who to contact in your chain-of-command to begin the process, please let us know and we will reply with an appropriate Point-of-Contact for your office.
The development team has some discretion to suggest features to the three groups listed above. Our decision to make recommendations is based, (1) monitoring the important journals publishing research in hydrology, and (2) recurrent expression of user needs and suggestions. When the same need or suggestion is expressed by many different users, then we recommend it for inclusion in the program. Priority is given to new features that affect the most users. If you have an idea for improving the program, you may e-mail the development team at hec.hms@usace.army.mil.
