Highlights from The Real Deadwood Display
In the main lobby of the Central Plains Region from March 1 - May 31, 2005
Fans of a popular television series based on Deadwood, Dakota Territory, during the late 1800s
will recognize the names of Seth Bullock, Calamity Jane, Wild Bill Hickok, Sol Star, and Al
Swearingen. All of these "characters" were real people and
make an appearance in federal records.
Where does fact separate from fiction? What can we learn about their lives?
In this exhibit, the Central Plains Region explored "The Real Deadwood".
