Instructions for completing the CSEMs Online

The ATSDR Continuing Education Program for the Case Studies in Environmental Medicine is moving from the MMWR to the OWCD system. People registered previously with MMWR will have to register anew with OWCD to take newly released courses. Persons wishing to take older courses (CE CSEM credits expiring in 2008) will still need to use the MMWR system.

Two separate transcript records will exist as a result of the transition process. Those who have taken courses using the MMWR system should contact the Environmental Medicine Continuing Education Coordinator (atsdrdtemce@cdc.gov) to address issues such as lost/forgotten passwords and course certificates. Persons who register with the OWCD system to take the newly released courses (2007 and beyond) should contact OWCD Training and Continuing Education Online by:

  • E-mail at ce@cdc.gov
Please do not send file attachments. All emails with file attachments will be automatically deleted.
  • Fax at 404-498-6045
  • Phone 1-800-41-TRAIN or 404-639-1292 during business hours, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM ET. After hours you may leave a voice message and we will return your call the next business day

OWCD Online Help

http://www2a.cdc.gov/TCEOnline/help.asp

  1. Read the CSEM online; all answers are in the text.
  2. Link to the Continuing Education Site at http://www2.cdc.gov/atsdrce/.
  3. Once you accessed the online system, select the electronic file and/or register and test for a particular course.
    1. Under the heading "Register and Take Exam," click on the test type desired.
    2. If you have registered in this system before, please use the same login name and password. This will ensure an accurate transcript.

Note: Users who registered and took examinations online at the PHTN/ATSDR Web site before October 31, 2002, will need to reregister and will not be able to view their complete transcripts until the old database is merged with this database.

    3. If you have not previously registered in this system, please provide the registration information requested. This allows accurate tracking for credit purposes. Please review the CDC Privacy Notice (www.cdc.gov/privacy.htm).
    4. Once you have logged in/registered, select the test and take the posttest.
  4. Answer the questions presented. To receive continuing education credit, you must answer all of the questions. Some questions have more than one answer. Questions with more than one answer will instruct you to "indicate all that are true."
  5. Complete the course evaluation and posttest.
  6. You will be able to immediately print your continuing education certificate from your personal transcript.
