About Go Local Vermont
WelcomeThe Vermont Go Local is a joint project of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), University of Vermont Dana Medical Library, the Frymoyer Community Health Resource Center of Fletcher Allen Health Care, and the United Ways of Vermont. Medline Plus, the premier consumer database from the NLM and National Institutes of Health, provides information about medical conditions and diseases and links to the Vermont Go Local website which finds local health facilities, health care providers, support groups and programs throughout Vermont.
Vermont Go Local was created and is being maintained by a qualified library staff including professional medical librarians so the information that is provided is accurate and current. The following criteria used for inclusion of providers on the site:
- Notation of provider's credentials and their qualifications.
- Provision of health services to Vermont residents.
- Availablity of current contact information.
- Health care facilities and providers which have up-to-date web sites; however, there are some resources that only have telephone numbers and addresses that have been verified.
Although we have tried to present an exhaustive health care listing, some providers and healthcare facilities might have been overlooked; therefore, users can recommend additional websites that can be added to the Go Local site.
