Carpooling Makes $ense Bonus Program
NJDOT launches a bonus program for forming
larger carpools
The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) enhances the incentive gas
card program for carpoolers effective December 1, 2008. The
registration form is available
online.
- The distribution of gas cards per carpool is (maximum of $200 per carpool - one time offer):

- If you participated in any NJDOT Ridesharing Program and received a gas card, you are ineligible for this program.
- Additional riders who wish to join an existing carpool should
contact their local Transportation Management Association (TMA) office.
- All New Jersey residents and workers are eligible for the program,
subject to the requirements for the gas cards.
- A carpool is defined as two or more individuals, over 18 years old, sharing a ride to work, college or university.
- Carpoolers who live in New Jersey but work in another state
should submit their registration form to the Transportation Management Association (TMA) in their home
county.
- To qualify for the gas card, the carpool must carpool at least
24 days in a two-month period.
- The TMAs will track and verify the use of the
carpools and the additional rider program.
- Carpools must submit their carpool log within 120 days of
registration in order to be eligible to receive the gas cards.
