Updates on Fire
This is the last update unless there is a significant change in fire behavior.
The fire perimeter is approximately 23 miles. Six miles of line were secured during suppression efforts on the south side of the fire to protect the Fishing Bridge visitor services area. Fire managers will continue to confine approximately seventeen miles of the fire in the backcountry northeast of Lake Junction and take additional suppression action as necessary.

Overview
The LeHardy Fire north of Fishing Bridge was started by a powerline which runs in a utility corridor west of the Grand Loop Road between Fishing Bridge and Canyon.
It is burning to the northeast away from roads and developed areas in a mature lodgepole and spruce forest.
Last 24-hour Activity
On August 11 firefighters removed the sprinkler system around the Fishing Bridge visitor service area, as it is no longer threatened by the fire. All remaining out-of-area resources were demobilized.
Strategy
Yellowstone National Park fire management staff will continue long-term monitoring of the LeHardy Fire and will take action as needed.
Vegetation Affected
Lodgepole pine

Air / Smoke Issues
Smoke may be visible within the fire area, especially along the northern perimeter where fire behavior is expected to increase throughout the week due to drier conditions. Geothermal features are also present within the perimeter of the fire, and may be confused with smoke from the fire at a distance.
