Internships

Interns play a significant role in the Department of Defense. Gathering a variety of skills while making invaluable governmental connections, interns in the DoD have gained unique experiences and opportunities which have enabled them to succeed in government careers as well as in the private sector. Typically, interns are placed into one of the following programs:

  • Volunteers and Uncompensated Internships
  • Summer Employment Program
  • Student Educational Employment Program
  • Internships in ISA are ideal for those who wish to pursue academics while gaining valuable work experience. During the school year, students are limited to 25 hours per week and class schedules are considered. As diverse as the agencies themselves, interns in ISA range from those interested in law and politics to international and humanitarian issues.
